India beat Singapore 3- 0 in the Group II Asia/Oceania tie being held at National Tennis Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. India is the highest ranked team and according to the singles world rankings, has the strongest squad of players Sania Mirza, Poojashree Venkatesha, Sanaa Bhambri and Rushmi Chakravarthi along with Team Captain Rohit Rajpal.

There are seven (7) teams participating in Group II – Hong Kong China, India, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore & Syria divided into two pools. Pool ‘A’ and Pool ‘B’. India has been placed in ‘Pool A’ with Malaysia and Singapore. Winners of both pools playoff will decide which nation to be promoted to Asia/Oceania Zone Group I.
