It was a delightful moment when Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes beat the No.2 seeds Canada’s Daniel Nestor and Belarus’Max Mirnyi on Thursday.
The returned Indian star pair is now set to play final against top seeds and defending champions Bob and Mike Bryan of the USA.
After splitting in 2002 the 3rd seeded Indian pair managed to enter into the Finals. 2 hours of action was filled with mixture of emotions and combination of playing techniques like powerful and strong backhands as well as forehands and also great volleys.
It was tough match for Lee-Hesh. Mahesh Bhupathi who is pairing with Leander Paes this year was team-up with Max Mirnyi last year. This time he was playing against him.
The Indians were not playing their best tennis and their techniques were tested in the semi-final. They fought with their full strength and gave co-operation to each other which is very crucial to defeat the opponent.
As the team they have won French Open in2001 which is the great achievement from the point of view of Indians. The only missing Grand slam title is an Australian Open for them.
This time opponents are very strong and tough. The American twins play tennis very hard, they are very swift with their movements on court; there is great combination of forehand and backhand shots in their game.
But there is chance for Indian Express to play good and hard tennis against strong and rough opponent to clinch the Australian Open Grand Slam title which is missing from their collection.
So it will be the great gift for Indian tennis fans if the comeback pair manages to beat the Americans and win the title.
