The AIFF are quite possibly making their worst decision ever. The sacking of Bob Houghton would quite possibly set the game back 10 years.
The funny thing is that the committee that decides whether Mr. Robert Douglas Houghton stays or goes has none other than EX-India manager Pradip Chowdhury who left the Indian team preparations 10 days before the biggest tournament the team has ever played!. This clearly shows the caliber of the people in power positions..

Bob Houghton was the reason that the Nehru Cup was re-started and why India currently holds it. He is the reason we qualified for The AFC Asian Cup by winning the AFC Challenge Cup. Following this, he became a god. For youth development, he was the reason the Indian Arrows were formed. He is the reason the man who oversaw the development of Peter Crouch is currently living in Gurgaon.
People have criticized him for playing club sides in Portugal. Well theres a popular saying- If the shit fits, wear it! Thats exactly what he has done. He has played sides which were cheaper to play against, had better facilities and were technically superior to teams that were the equivalent to these in the international arena.
By criticizing the infrastructure, well, he didnt do anything wrong, he just spoke the truth. If by speaking the truth, he did something wrong then what can any one say?

Bob Houghton may be fired soon and what i may say does not matter. For me he is a living legend. He will always be the best coach India has ever had. AThe most accomplished coach India has ever had.
