Reports in Spain have emerged that Manchester United will announce De Gea as their first signing this summer on Monday. Current No 1 Edwin Van Der Sar is all set to make his final appearance this Saturday in the Champions League final against Barcelona. Since Edwin announced his retirement, the football world was abuzz with rumors about who was going to replace the Dutchman at Old Trafford. Following his brilliant performance in the Champions League Semifinal Manuel Neuer seemed to be the favorite but now it looks likely that he is set to sign for Bayern Munich.
Van Der Sar himself recommended his fellow country man Martin Skeltenberg who is his successor in the Netherlands national team. But De Gea was always the favorite and according to AS the 20 year old has already signed with the English Champions and they are to confirm it officially on Monday after the final at Wembley.
Replacing Edwin Van Der sar will be no easy task for the Spaniard,but at 20 years old he is very young for a keeper and if he settles in well he could be in for the long haul at Old Trafford. De Gea joins a host of stars leaving the Vicente Calderon this summer along with Aguero and Forlan.
