Indian duo Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth have won the doubles title at the ITF $10K event in Trichy on Friday. The third seeded Indian duo beat fellow Indians Rupesh Roy/ Vivek Shookeen 7-6, 6-7, 10-7 to win the title.
Meanwhile, in the singles event, qualifier Ashwin Vijayaragavan’s run ended with a semi final loss to Croatian Marin Bradaric 4-6, 7-6, 6-0.
In China, sixth seed Vijayant Malik was beaten in the quarter finals 6-4, 7-6 by Takuto Niki in the ITF $10K event there.
On the women’s side, Indian teenager Kyra Shroff, partnering with Yana Sizikova, won the doubles title at the ITF $10K event in Oman. Shroff and Sizikova beat Haas/ Sarrazin 6-2, 6-4. It was the first doubles title for Shroff this year and the third overall for the 19 year old on the ITF circuit.
