India’s Somdev Devvarman has dropped out of the top 200 in the world rankings due to his injury induced lay off. The Indian drops 38 spots to no. 235 in the latest rankings. In other significant moves involving Indians, Vishnu Vardhan drops 45 spots to no. 430 and Ashwin Vijayragavan climbs 357 spots to no. 940. In the doubles, Leander Paes holds on to no. 7, Rohan Bopanna drops 2 spots to no. 12, Mahesh Bhupathi holds oon to no. 15
Among the women, Sania Mirza holds on to no. 8 in doubles and moves up one spot to no. 180 in singles while Kyra Shroff climbs from 668 to no. 637 to regain India no. 2 status.
For the rest, it was a pretty quiet week oon the rankings front with the only change in the top 10 seeing American John Isner climb one spot to no. 10. Juan Martin del Potro dropped from no. 10 to no. 12 while Bucharest champion Gilles Simon moved up one place to no. 11.
Barcelona winner Rafael Nadal continues to stay put at no. 2 behind Serbian Novak Djokovic.
