India’s Sania Mirza has reached the semi finals of the WTA Estoril Open in Portugal with Australian partner Anastasia Rodionova.

The second seeded duo beat the American pair of Lindsay Lee-Waters and Moulton-Levy 6-0, 6-4 to reach the last four of the clay court event.

In the singles draw, top seed Roberta Vinci moved into the last eight with an easy win over local wild card Maria Joao Koehler 6-2, 6-0. But second seed Maria Kirilenko and third seed Anabel Medina Garrigues were both beaten in the second round. Former champion Jie Zheng, seeded 5th, was also knocked out.

But sixth seed Kaia Kanepi, seventh seed Nadia Petrova and dangerous Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro managed to book their spots in the quarter finals.
