Checking his Twitter page just about now shows what I have always known for quite a while that: “Denial is the first stage of grief”. Maybe the grief there should be replaced with “Done deal rumours”.
When speaking about the importance of the Gunners signing players, he said it was imperative that we sign players to show ambition but Sagna said: “Yann will have a positive impact, I don’t know about his English but took me a while to learn.”
What that message suggests is that if he hasn’t talked to Yann, then he knows of the deal and was probably too exhilarated to bottle the news. He later took to his twitter page to deny any possibility of leaking the news. Taking the Podolski case into cognizance, it would be recalled that there was this story making the rounds that he would relish linking up with Miroslav Klose in Lazio, and then ended up wearing the red and white shirt. That is not to say any move denied is going to go through, but that means there was contact from either party.
Maybe I am too optimistic about him joining but why didn’t Sagna say this kind of thing last summer? We know Arsenal like keeping transfer dealings as discrete as possible, but I think Sagna is the mole here.
I hope everything comes into fruition and Giroud joins him also, that would make for a successful summer along with Vertonghen, but I think he is most like going to Spurs and that would not bother me if he doesn’t end up here (it just shows his ambitions and fighting power; Thursday football over Champions League).

Vishal Verma Joined 0 pointsVertonghen is not confident that he will manage playing time at Arsenal…one would assume that a player who has been in the news so much will be more confident about his level….
