Close your eyes and imagine Andy Gray saying this. Mesmerizing, absolutely mesmerizing ( people from 90′s and FIFA gamers will realise what I mean). That’s what this terrific lad is all about. You can call him over-rated, over-hyped and an attention seeker but he is just about world-class. As a Chelsea supporter, I can’t say I didn’t see this coming. After the signing of Marko Marin and now Eden Hazard, Roman Abrahamovic’s Chelsea have made it clear that they’re determined to clinch a 2nd European title.
The most widely-hyped transfer of the season.
Eden Hazard is both technically and creatively gifted. He asserted his dominance in the French Ligue 1 from the day one and also ended on a high by netting a hat-trick against Nancy. He grabbed 20 goals and 16 assists in his last season at Lille.
According to Joe Cole , Hazard’s club mate and a former Chelsea player,
“I have seen many great players emerge over the last 15 years and Eden is as good as any of them. ”He has a special talent. He can succeed everywhere. The more I see him play, the more he impresses me.”
Only time will tell in regard to how good he is, because being the best player in Ligue 1 is different to being the best in leagues such as La Liga, Bundesliga and the English Premier League. He has great talent for sure but will he able to use it to good effect at Chelsea?
People might still say that he’ll only fulfill his potential at a club like Manchester United where Sir Alex Ferguson is known to transform star players into world-class players. But at the end of day, he wanted to play at a club where he’ll get enough time to improve. If he wanted to play on the wings , he could not achieve that at United and City where he would face stiff competition from the likes of Nani and Barry. Chelsea who lack in almost every department, need a quality winger to ease of the pressure from Juan Mata’s shoulder’s. This would mean that Eden has a great chance of getting into the starting XI.
He has also been praised as a real competitor and one who doesn’t complain when fouled. But nevertheless, if you earn 4.9 million a year at a club like Chelsea, why wouldn’t you join?
