A sport would not be sport without a clear demarcation of one team from another team, hence the creation of sports kits/outfits/jerseys etc. Manchester United and Liverpool are known for their Red colored jerseys, Barcelona for their striped red and blue, Juventus for their stripes, they used to wear pink when they started and went back to it this season. Some players and teams however try to bend the rules or go over the top and not in a good way, here we list a few of the most baffling, crazy and controversial sport kits.
Venus Williams
Don’t worry guys, its not what it seems. Venus Williams decided to torture and entertain quite a few during the French Open and well, I really can’t say how hideous this outfit looks. Pictures do tell a thousand words, this one surely does as well.
Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin
These Russian ice skaters certainly caused a stir in the 2010 European championships when they dressed up as aborigines, which was not the boiling point. Though later during the routine, the man dragged the women by her hair, leaving a lot of aboriginals insulted by the routine.
Cameroon Football Team
Cameroon decided to take part in the 2002 African Cup of Nations wearing sleeveless shirts, if you can call then that. They won the tournament, but were banned by Fifa from wearing them again as Fifa judged them to be “Vests” and not shirts.
Speedo LZR Racer
Everyone loves it when records are broken, they are meant to be a tough feat to match. The Speedo Racer however helped break records left , right and center, like an angry rabid dog chows down on a piece of meat. Co.designed by NASA and the Australian sports institute, this helped the Aussies and Americans dominate the swimming pool for a while, before the suit was banned from all competition.
Badminton Skirts
The Badminton World Federation proposed that all female players should wear skirts to make the game more attractive, this plan however was met with a lot of calls from Women players and Rights organizations of being sexist. The BWF finally relented and scrapped the idea.
LFL
Not really controversial in terms of just kits but in every aspect. The Lingerie Football League, similar to the NFL in America has women play American football in guess what? Of course, lingerie. The criticism it would get obviously has not fazed the sport as there are plans for an expansion in Australia and Europe.

associations should decide….now business deals with sports?
