Kelly Kelly may be done with WWE

Current WWE diva and former Divas Champion Kelly Kelly appears to be taking time off from WWE, after requesting a break. Kelly has been on the road with WWE since 2006, with little to no breaks. The request for time off was reportedly due to burnout and Kelly simply needing to take a break to rest her body.

However, there is a good chance we may not see her again after her break is over. According to NoDQ.com, several of Kelly’s colleagues do not believe she will return after the break, thinking that she may be done with WWE. To add further to the speculation, Kelly has added her real name-Barbie Blank-to her Twitter account, something that is not done by currently employed WWE performers (unless they perform under their real name, such as John Cena). On top of that, Kelly announced via the microblogging site that she is currently accepting outside bookings, appearances and endorsements. Again, this is not regular behavior for WWE performers. The only currently-employed people who are normally allowed to accept outside bookings like this are announcers and backstage agents, who have different contracts than the wrestlers and referees. Nothing is confirmed regarding her current employment status, so take this as a rumor for now.

In other news, it appears that NXT Season 2 competitor Eli Cottonwood may have been released from his WWE developmental contract, as his profile has been removed from Florida Championship Wrestling’s roster page on their website. Cottonwood, who debuted during season 2 of WWE’s pseudo-reality show, is one of only a few former NXT competitors who has not appeared on WWE television since being kicked off NXT. Cottonwood (real name: Kipp Christianson) was chosen for the second season, losing out to eventual winner Kaval. Despite being the biggest member of the season 2 class, Cottonwood was extremely awkward in the ring and was often on the losing end of his matches, eventually being eliminated from the show during the second elimination round. Cottonwood only appeared once more, helping the other eliminated rookies beat down Kaval after he was announced as the winner. Cottonwood also became somewhat of a running joke on the Internet when, during a “Talk the Talk” challenge on NXT where he had to cut a promo about mustaches, famously stated that he didn’t have a mustache and neither did any of the other rookies on the season, despite the fact that he has one, as did at least 3 of the other rookies.
