Paris Saint-Germain FC v LOSC Lille Metropole - Ligue 1

PARIS, FRANCE – DECEMBER 18: Mohamed Sissoko of Paris Saint-Germain competes for the ball with Eden Hazard (L) of Lille during the Ligue1 match between Paris Saint-Germain FC and LOSC Lille Metropole on December 18, 2011 in Paris, France.

Another day, more rumors, and among them, one that surprises me a lot . If you havent seen my previous articles on Chelsea‘s transfer rumours, you can see them here, here , here and  here.

The vacations were supposed to be quiet. A good day of Xbox, chilling on the beach with a Pina colada , meeting your mates and having a look at the Champions League final once again. But Euro 2012 has just about disrupted everything. With Roman and Di Matteo keeping a very close eye on players that impress everyone with their flair and technique for their respective countries, our own Chelsea boys are suffering from mixed emotions. Only three Chelsea players remain: Raul Meireles, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata. Though Juan Mata has not featured it can be confirmed that a Chelsea player will be playing in the final.

Today morning, as I sat down to play some Football Manager, I found this piece of news on my Twitter page. Atletico Madrid have apparently been quoted by the tabloids as refusing to sell their prized striker for any kind of fee. Falcao has played a pivotal role in helping Atletico win the Europa League. They have been quoted by Daily Mail as saying :

‘Falcao will remain at Atletico Madrid and any talk of an exit is misplaced. The club has very clear ideas on this.’

‘The striker will remain with us next season and we are not considering any other possibility.’

Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao - UEFA Europa League Final

Now then, isn’t this what most clubs do when they are on the verge of losing their players? The same happened to Fernando Torres, who was bought by Chelsea in the last few hours of the winter transfer window and he found himself ending up in West London for a price of 50 million pounds.

So, do we need Falcao? He is not exactly the player to fit in on the right-wing and that’s where we lack a bit of quality. We shouldn’t be much disappointed if we don’t land him even though he could prove a new Drogba for us if Torres happens to still end up shy in-front of goal.

Chelsea Target Lavezzi off to PSG?

Havent heard of Lavezzi from a long time, since he said Napoli don’t even have to try to beat Chelsea in the second-leg at the Bridge. Oh, the irony! Well nevertheless he is a class player and been on Chelsea’s radars for a long time, once being under Carlo Ancelotti’s eyes as well and now looks set to join him. In his words :

‘I don’t know much about the negotiations. My agent is managing them. But from Napoli I will carry the extraordinary affection of the people in my heart.

‘At times, they did not permit me that affection, but that makes the city special. At the beginning of my Neapolitan period, there were some who turned up their noses at me, said I was too chubby, but then I earned some credit and sympathy among the people.

Haha. Chubby?! If only that happened to Drogba! He hasn’t made it clear that he is destined to leave for Paris, but with a 21 million offer on the table, anything can happen.

So, do we need Lavezzi? He is a left winger, and we already have creative players like Mata and Hazard to fill that place, so a definite no from me!

If not Hulk, then maybe Demba Ba?

It’s all beginning to get quite foggy about Hulk joining us, with the Porto President stating at a press conference that Chelsea have made no official bid. Surprising, that after all the rumors that have been floating around with him being destined to wear the number 11 shirt and his Twitter page filled with thank you messages to Chelsea fans. The man needs no introduction though. He is a complete powerhouse: something that Didier Drogba was. It will be a similar – but younger – scenario with Hulk.

Do we need Hulk? Hell Yes! The perfect man for the right-wing, seeing that he could fit into the team, and the English Premier League, perfectly. His age and skill could make us a deadly force in Europe, along with Hazard and Mata, and could help us retain our Champions League trophy: something no one has done before.

To end, I would like to say don’t worry, it seems like everything has stopped, but it’s summer, and everyone needs a rest. Managers, players, everyone. Chelsea will continue to work on building the squad.

In other news, Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Delta Air Lines as their new official global airline partner. The two-year deal sees them link up with one of the world’s largest airlines, which flies 160 million passengers per year to around 350 destinations in 65 countries. They will join Chelsea on their tour of the US this summer.
