After watching the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) success in cricket for 5 long years, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is taking another step to bring the people of India to the football stadium by organizing an IPL style football league.

Though the discussions about this league are in the preliminary stages, and nothing is concrete yet, the rumour has been spread that AIFF, along with International Management Group (IMG)  are planning to introduce an IPL-style franchisee based league. Though the date has not been fixed yet, it seems like it may take place after theI-league.

A problem raised here is that the players who take part in I-league use that time for rest. If this proposed league takes place, it will be very difficult for the players to spend time with their families. A solution has not been thought of yet.

Some months ago, it had already been decided that the Premier League Soccer (PLS) will take place in March this year. But due to the shortage of time, and some Infrastructural drawbacks, it has been postponed for an indefinite time.
