United gear up for van Persie move as Berbatov exit imminent

Manchester United will intensify efforts to prise Robin van Persie from Arsenal, after Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed he is willing to let Dimitar Berbatov go. Berbatov released a statement on his Facebook site last week revealing his frustrations at a summer of speculation. Liverpool and Chelsea want Walcott?

Liverpool and Chelsea are said to join a tug of war for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott for £15million. The England and Arsenal midfielder has just one year remaining in his contract and could follow Arsenal captain Robin van Persie’s by seeking a move away from the Emirates Stadium if Arsenal does not boost his wages to £100,000 per week.

Real Sociedad make Carlos Vela move permanent

Stefan Edberg has revealed that Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, long rumored to be moving away from the Emirates, has finalized a three-year deal with La Liga side Real Sociedad, with whom he spent last season on loan. The deal puts an end to a speculative tenure in England for the very talented striker. He failed to break into his Arsenal stride due to a combination of injuries and poor form but seems to have found solace at the Spanish club.

Barcelona want Daniel Agger

Barcelona are reported to be looking to swoop for Liverpool’s centre-back Daniel Agger as a long-term replacement for Carles Puyol, a move which could then enable Liverpool to make a move for Bilbao’s Javi Martinez.  Barcelona, who bowed to Chelsea in last year’s Champion’s League in the absence of Puyol look to have found some chinks in their defence.

Santos want Robinho back home

Santos have stepped up their efforts to bring back Robinho for a third spell at Vila Belmiro, reports have suggested. The 28-year-old striker began his career with the 2011 Copa Libertadores champions, and also lifted the Paulista Championship and the Copa do Brasil during a loan spell from Manchester City back in 2010. Santos are reportedly trying to sign him on a permanent deal now, after he has had a lackluster career in the Italian league. Brazilian Olympic goalkeeper, Rafael, miht be part of the deal.
