Can’t wait enough for the Gunners to begin their campaign? Wondering how to catch the dead links to their games online to get a glimpse of the stars you’ve missed over the past one and a half months? Well Star Sports has seen your love for the club. In what news would come as music to the ears of Arsenal fans, the Summer Asia tour is to be telecast in India which includes friendlies against the Malaysian XI and more importantly, Manchester City.
Last season, we saw various top fixtures, including the Everton Game played on the 125th anniversary of the club with legends making an appearance at the Emirates, being replaced by insignificant games on EspnStar. And all of a sudden, things seem to have changed drastically. Showing friendlies of the club, hopefully, indicates less petitions to be signed to broadcast our games this season.
To catch the players in action, tune in to Star sports on
24 July: 19:10 hrs – Arsenal vs Malaysian XI
27 July: 17:25 hrs – Arsenal vs Manchester City
What to look out for:
Though we all can’t wait to see our Jack back, it would be a little disappointing to hear that he and Sagna may miss out on the tour to ensure complete recovery. But after last season’s pre-season injury that kept the midfield maestro out for the season, Arsene Wenger would want to keep him out of these “not so important” fixtures. Also, Van Persie’s situation will look to be resolved before the team fly to Asia on Saturday afternoon. Fans would finally get to see the likes of Olivier Giroud and ‘Prince’ Podolski on the pitch, doing their duties for their new club.
All in all, these would be matches with insignificant results but would have an important outcome, so as to set the tone for the 2012/13 campaign.
