Amit Kumar beat the Iranian HS Rahimi in the dying moments of the last round in a closely contested match in the 1/8th round of 55kg category.
In the first round, Rahimi earned a point by pushing the Indian out of the ring. But Amit Kumar came back in the 2nd round to earn a point by take-down. The scores were tied till the dying moments of the last round when a take down by Amit Kumar earned him a narrow victory.
