Cristiano Ronaldo Vs. Lionel Messi - The Never-ending Debate

Many football blogs and websites alike have given their own verdict on who is the better player between Portuguese Ronaldo and the Argentinian Messi. Most of them managed to draw a very diplomatic picture in favor of both the players. We won’t do that. It is what it is.

With the rivalry coming to the forefront again in the form of UEFA’s best player in Europe award, we at Footynions figured this would be the right time to provide our say on this.

Only, this time around we involved the expertise of a highly talented info graphics developer in the picture. A lot of words have been used to describe these two players. Enough said. Simple readable stats for the 2011 – 2012 season, as put in art form by Shahed Syed, should explain who performed better.

These stats make it clear that Messi was more prominent than Ronaldo in terms of performance, last season. And adding to this, it is unpretentiously entertaining to watch the Argentinian use his trickery and exert his influence on the game than watch Ronaldo run at people using his speed, and making it through 50% of the time. Period.
