This one slipped away early for us. We have won one and lost three matches thus far. Japan pulled away to win this one 100-71. One bright spot has been the emergence of Palpreet Singh Brar. He scored 31 points to go with 14 rebounds. And he shot 72 % from the field. Lack of size has been a matter of concern for Indian basketball team, here’s hoping that this young big man can fulfill the potential he is promising.
MR. Rakesh added 15 points, and those two were the only players to score in double figures for India. A good sign is that we had 40 points in the paint, as opposed to 34 of theirs. We shot very poor from the 3 point range, 2 of 18. And we gave away a lot of easy buckets, 36 points in transition and 21 second chance points.
