Ronaldo, United and the love for football

It was in the year of 2008 I began to know fully about this beautiful game and fell in love with it. Even before that, from my childhood I had been playing football in the streets and have watched football rarely and had played some fifa games. But since this is the land of cricket I was never guided in the right way or i didnt have much facilities or guidance to play this beautiful game. But from the year of 2008 it was Cristiano Ronaldo who impressed me and made me fall in love with his game.

So I began watching all of his games and also his club. It was Manchester United. At that time I don’t know anything about this club or its history. Then I started watching all of the EPL matches and also played fantasy football online by selecting my favourite players which made me to know almost all the players in the EPL. In EPL the game was very high standard  compared to other leagues. I started watching each and every EPL matches and admired each and every team.

I came to know more about the red devils and their history and Sir Alex Ferguson. And I liked the way Manchester United played and I loved their passion and determination to win which was in their mentality. Ronaldo was outstanding that season and we the red devils won 3 cups including the EPL and the Champions league and also Ronaldo won the player of the year award. Though we didn’t perform well against Liverpool that season we won the league. I hated Liverpool to the core. I don’t know how and why may be because I have become a typical United fan I realized. Football was my life and Man Utd was my dream always.

Whenever I played football I began to enjoy each and every moment of myself in the pitch. Though I was not a professional I played football for my complete happiness and joy. “It’s a separate joy which comes when we play football which we dont get it from any other game; Only those who have experienced it can understand the joy in my words”.

It was in the year of 2009 at the end of the season I realized that there was some gossip that ronaldo was about to leave. I prayed that  the news was just a rumour. But it was later confirmed that Ronaldo was signed for Real Madrid for a record transfer fee of 80 million euros. I couldn’t accept Ronaldo leaving Man Utd because I thought he would commit his future to the club. Then I had to decide between Ronaldo’s team and Man Utd. It was always going to be Man Utd. I continued watching Man Utd and had always dreamt about visiting Old Trafford. It’s a special stadium Theatre of Dreams at a special place Old Trafford and a special manager. So I understood that even a special player could be replaceable.

Then I began to understand much about football and the transfer sagas and understood that football was never going to be a one man game. I always enjoyed the late goals that we score and had over confidence in the club and I liked the way Man Utd approach each and every game where they had winning as their only option. My passion was football and my love was football and my hobby was football and I became crazy for football and even now it’s the same. I became addicted to EPL. Even if I miss a single weekend of EPL I felt bad. From that time till now I have followed each and everything about Football and in particular about Man Utd. Though we lost the title to City I can never lose hope in Man Utd. It is not about the player they sign each year but the determination with each player as a team stands special. They are not a one man army but as a team they are the best in world football.

I could not have the joy of playing now after having series of knee problems but I always will have the joy of watching it and will never ever lose my love and passion in football. Each and every second of the game was a blessing from god to me and I still think of them even now. No one can  know about football completely. Each and every day I like to know something new about football. Maybe Ronaldo is my legend and Manchester united was my dream but football is always gonna be my love of life. “When you play football it’s not about the skills you perform makes it beautiful but it is the game which makes each and every one of you beautiful; it’s not about skill but about being united.”
