Bengaluru witnessed the culmination of the Mahindra NBA Challenge Bengaluru Finals today. Present was the man with seven rings, Robert Horry, to  felicitate the winners of all eight divisions for males and females taking part in the Bengaluru leg of the Mahindra NBA Challenge.

Here are the winners from the contest:

Sports Hostel Mandya in the U13 and U16 Girls Divisions
Young Orions in the U13 and U18 Boys Divisions
Beagles in U16 Boys
Mounts Club in U18 Girls
Sports Hostel Mysore in Senior Women Divisions
A.S.C. in Senior Men’s Division

Along with the finals, today Robert Horry and Troy Justice, Senior Director Basketball operations, NBA India, also conducted a Generation Adidas clinic for 40 selected players from U-13 and U-16 divisions. I’m guessing Robert drilled into them the importance of drilling corner threes like a sniper, amongst other skills.

Robert Horry dishing out tips

The two senior teams which won will travel to Delhi from October 4-7 next month for the National Finals of the Mahindra NBA Challenge. This third season of Mahindra NBA Challenge marks the first time there will be a national finals. Robert Horry will be seen next in Delhi and Noida for the NBA 3×3 event. Check back later for details about that too.

And why does he get to wear one and I don’t?

I’ve often wondered if these guys with more rings they can wear on one hand, actually go around wearing all the bling. Think about it. The man has seven NBA championships, 7 rings. What does he do with the rings? Does he carry them on his person? If not, where do he keep them?

Sneaky, sneaky suspicion I’ve had that guys like Horry have way too many rings and they just leave them lying around and they end up in the hands of the Beibers of this world. Above pic was taken at a Lakers game, Rob was a Laker.
