In a shocking move that shook Indian cricket,Mahendra Singh Dhoni has decided to retire from the shortest format of the game after the on-going T20 world cup, after facing much criticism from the fans and critics in recent times.Dhoni called for a surprise press conference yesterday evening to make his announcement.

“Well of course I have decided to retire from the T20 cricket. I have been thinking regarding this decision since CSK failed to win the IPL this year. I think that T20 format does not suit me, as I prefer to score the bulk of runs in final overs of the game,no matter the target in front. Also, I would like to give opportunity to much better pinch hitters(laughs) like Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja(coughs).”

Surprisingly, most of the nation completely neglected his retirement. Some were even seen celebrating in the streets.Reports claim that some saw Dinesh Karthick celebrating wildly after hearing this news. Our reporters were lucky to get comments from some of his teammates and also former players.

Suresh Raina : “I deeply regret his decision to retire from T20 cricket. After his retirement, I cannot guarantee my place in T20 playing squad have the privilege to bat alongside him.Hopefully,he reverses his decision.”

Virender Sehwag:”I am sad to hear about his retirement.I think he feels his reflexes are slowing down(smiles).Hopefully,BCCI elects me someone good as a captain”

Sachin Tendulkar”I think he has taken the right decision to retire from T20 cricket as I feel he might get much more time to spend with his family, rather than wasting ball in T20′s playing in tiring T20’s.”

Ravi Shastri:”This is indeed a great loss to Indian cricket. At the end of the day, cricket is the real winner is the real loser.”
