Five-nil. Undefeated at Malaysia. Our U18 Women’s team just won promotion to the Level 1 of this competition’s next edition in 2014 with our performance there this time around. Five of our players were also among the top five performers across various statistical columns in this competition. This bodes well for the future, a young squad ever improving with each competition. Numbers don’t tell the full story, but they do paint a good picture of what happened. Here are the five top leaders:
Jeena Skaria PS led the tournament in rebounds per game with 13.6 pg, she was also the 2nd highest scorer in the tournament with 20.2 points per game.
Shireen Vijay Limaye averaged the 1st highest steals per game (5 pg), 5th highest rebounds (9.4 pg), and 3rd highest assists (4.6 pg).
Sharanjeet Kaur averaged the 2nd highest assists per game, with 6 pg.
Rajapriyadharshini Rajaganapathi averaged 3rd highest rebounds per game (9.8).
6 foot 8 Poonam Chaturvedi was 4th in 2 point field goal percentage with 61.3%.
Panparin Iam U Tama of Thailand had 24 steals, one less than Shireen.
