Those stats say it all, don’t they? Arguably the best driver of all time has announced his retirement. For good. He first announced retirement at the end of the 2006 season when he was at the pinnacle of his success. But he just couldn’t live without the thrill of driving through the tunnel of Monaco at 320 km/hr. He returned to drive for the 2010 season for the Mercedes GP team- and hasn’t won a race since.

Announcing his retirement for good

Some would say that he shouldn’t have returned, but I respect him for all that he has accomplished. His legacy will always be remembered and he will always remain dear in the hearts of all F1 fans.
