It’s the second week of October and we’re just done with the World T20 madness, the Japanese Grand Prix, the China and Japan Opens and a high scoring Premier League weekend.
Let’s see what this week has in store for us.
The Champions League T20 gets underway with IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders, runners up Chennai Super Kings and semi-finalists Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians representing India in the tournament.
Perth Scorchers & Sydney Sixers from Australia, and Titans and Highveld Lions from South Africa will be the main attractions in the rest of the teams’ roster.
Group A – Kolkata Knight Riders (India), Delhi Daredevils (India), Titans (South Africa), Perth Scorchers (Australia) and Qualifier 1.
Group B – Chennai Super Kings (India), Mumbai Indians (India), Highveld Lions (South Africa), Sydney Sixers (Australia) and Qualifier 2.
The two qualifiers for the group stage CL T20 2012 will be decided in a qualifying stage that will be played from 10 to 12 October. The teams in fray for the qualifying stage are Auckland Aces (New Zealand), Trinidad and Tobago (West Indies), Sialkot Stallions (Pakistan), Hampshire Royals (England), Yorkshire Carnegie (England) and Uva Next (Sri Lanka).

And this is that time of the calender that we hate. International breaks. Nevertheless, you’ll get to see your favourite players represent their teams in friendlies and World Cup qualifiers.

The HP Japan Open:
Neither Roger Federer nor Novak Djokovic played last year so both have the potential to gain big points although Djokovic has to be the slight favourite due to his outstanding hard court record in the past two years. US Open champion Andy Murray will hope to keep up his excellent form by defending the title here. His hurdles include Gilles Simon, Marin Cilic, Juan Monaco Richard Gasquet, John Isner, Radek Stepanek and Tomas Berdych will also be hoping to do well.
