Here are some of the current goings-on in WWE this week.
WWE Hell in a Cell is under two weeks away and is really shaping up well. In addition to the Big Show/Sheamus World Championship and Team Hell No! defending their WWE Tag Team Championships against either The Rhodes Scholars or Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara (which will take place next week), there will be two more matches, that have been added. Randy Orton will face Alberto Del Rio in a rematch from last month’s pay-per-view, and we now have a new number one contender for the WWE Championship as current champion CM Punk will defend the belt against Ryback. This is Ryback’s first shot at a major championship in WWE, and the match will be contested in Hell in a Cell. This stems from the fact that John Cena, the original candidate for the match, has still not been medically cleared to wrestle since having shoulder surgery. It should also be noted that, in addition to Punk’s title, Ryback’s streak will be on the line. Since transforming his gimmick from Skip Sheffield, Ryback has remained undefeated thus far in WWE.
Former WWE diva and Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is currently in jail, violating a protective order that was put in place last month. This is Sytch’s fifth arrest in just a month, and second in just a 24-hour time span. Sytch’s lawyer, Rob Serafinowicz, posted a message on Sytch’s Facebook page, stating that she is entering rehab once again, as these problems appear to stem from her chronic substance abuse. Serafinowicz also claims her former boyfriend, independent wrestler Damien Darling, is selling her things on eBay, and is asking bidders to report the items as stolen.
“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, one-half of the legendary tag team The Midnight Express (two separate versions, actually) was hospitalized in Arkansas on Sunday, battling pneumonia and heart problems. Radio host Arda Orcal posted the following message on his Twitter account, letting everyone know Eaton’s status: “Bobby Eaton is recovering at hospital in Arkansas from Pneumonia and heart failure, expected to be released in a few days. #GetWellBobby”
WWE has signed Connecticut-based fitness competitor Alisha Ceraso to a developmental contract, and has already begun training with NXT. Cesaro, who is in her early 20s, recently revealed to Status Fitness Magazine that she was involved in a car accident when she was 16, paralyzing her and killing a fellow passenger. Ceraso also broke several bones in the accident, and the paralysis forced her to have to re-learn how to walk.
