First Maradona and now Lionel Messi to visit Kerala

Even before the dust settles following the visit of one of football’s greatest icons Diego Maradona, it’s now his compatriot and no lesser a football icon himself, Lionel Messi who will be now coming to Kerala. It’s another reputed business group who has begun making arrangements to try and secure the visit of this particular Argentinean magician. Like his idol, he too will be invited for an inauguration and according to reports, this is expected to happen somewhere in the month of November.

One of the main reasons for the sudden interest in getting Messi to come to Kerala was the unprecedented mania and subsequent free publicity generated by Maradona’s visit to God’s own country.

Yet to recover from the pleasant shock of seeing their God Maradona standing right in front of them, football fans in Kerala are finding it hard to believe their luck. A majority of these fans never imagined they could one day meet the modern day football legend of their lifetime. The opportunity of being able to meet one God after another is a dream come true for the people of Kerala; one of the most football crazy regions of the country.

Whether Messi will be visiting Kannur or Malappuram is something which remains to be confirmed. However, the football fanatics in Kerala can very well start the countdown for this magical moment.
