Sporting Clube de Goa will look to keep up their astonishing goalscoring form when they meet Goa Velha SC in their second round Goa Pro League match at Duler ground in Mapusa on Monday. The kick-off is scheduled for 4.15pm.

When the two clubs met last season, Sporting Goa, inspired by a Dawson Fernandes hattrick hammered Goa Velha 7-1, which incidentally was the Flaming Oranje’s biggest goal margin win of last season. Mackroy Peixote, Velito D’Cruz, and Xavier Dias were the other scorers that day.

In their first match of the current season, Sporting Clube de Goa have already eclipsed that record by defeating Margao SC 11-1, with new striker Boima Jerry Karpeh bagging four goals.

What became music to the ears of the Sporting Goa coach was that the entire midfield was just as productive in front of goal in that game, with Cajetan Fernandes, Rowllin Borges, and Pratesh Shirodkar scoring freely.

Last season, Goa Velha SC won the GFA Knockout Cup and are coming into the game on the back of a 2-0 win over Wilred Leisure SC.

“We respect all our opponents, they have won their opening match, and so it will be an interesting encounter. My entire squad is showing great enthusiasm, and it will be tough to select the final eleven which will go out to battle,” stated Sporting Goa’s Spanish coach Oscar Bruzon Barreras.
