Jonathan Trott: No more role to play in the Ashes now

England batsman Jonathan Trott has returned home from the Ashes tour in Australia after suffering from stress-related illness.

David Warner had criticised the entire England Cricket Team after their loss to Australia in the first Ashes Test, and said a few choice things about Trott.

Warner, who made 124, said: “England are on the back foot, and it looks like they’ve got scared eyes at the moment. The way Trotty got out was pretty poor and pretty weak.

“Obviously, there is a bit of a weakness there and we’re on top of it at the moment. It is good to see the bowlers bowling fast – we have got England on the back foot.

“Trotty has got to get new sledges as well because it is not working for him at the moment.

“We’ve seen him working hard in the nets on the short-ball, but the way to face a 90mph short-ball from Mitchell Johnson is not to back away.”

Cricket commentator David Llyod too expressed his thoughts and said that Jonathan Trott should be dropped for the remainder of the Ashes series.

Trott, who managed to make only 19 runs in both innings, said: “I don’t feel right that I am playing knowing that I am not 100 per cent and I cannot currently operate at the level I have come to expect.

“My priority now is to take a break from cricket so that I can focus on my recovery. I want to wish my team-mates all the best for the remainder of the tour.”
