Ferrari allows fans to name 2014 Formula 1 car

For the first time in Scuderia Ferrari’s 64-year tryst with Formula 1, the Italian car manufacturer is going to let fans choose the name of their car. The name chosen by the fans will be used for Ferrari’s 2014 F1 car.

Fans across the world can choose from five options: F14 T, F14 Maranello, F14 Scuderia, F166 Turbo and F616. The votes can be cast through Ferrari’s official Twitter account, Facebook page or their official website.

The name of the new car, as voted for by the fans, will be announced at 11 am GMT on 24th January, and on the following day the pictures of the car will be revealed.

The Maranello-based outfit has revealed that within hours of the opening of the online ballot to choose the name of the next Prancing Horse car, over 105,000 fans from around the world cast their votes, with the names F14 T and F166 Turbo leading the race at the moment.
