Brazil, Finland, Greece and Turkey were granted wild cards by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup .
At its meeting on 1 February 2014, FIBA’s Central Board decided to award wild cards to these four countries. Brazil is ranked 10th, Greece is ranked 5th, Turkey is ranked 7th and Finland is ranked 39th in the FIBA ranking.
The 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in Spain from 30 August to 14 September 2014.
The preliminary round will be played in Bilbao, Gran Canaria, Granada and Seville from 30 August to 4 September 2014 while the final round be held in the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona and in the Palacio de los Deportes of Madrid from 6 to 14 September 2014.
