India won three gold medals, four silvers and a bronze in the third and final leg of the Asian Grand Prix Series athletics meet here on Monday.

Leading the way for India was 800m specialist Jinson Johnson and reigning Asian champion shot putter Inderjeet Singh who won the top spot in their respective categories.

Johnson led the way with a timing of 1.50.56 seconds to race away with the top spot while Inderjeet produced an effort of 19.83 metres to take the first position. Javelin thrower Devinder Singh won gold with a throw of 76.61 metres.

Asian Games bronze medallist Arokia Rajiv and Asian Games gold medallist in the 4x400m women's relay M.R. Poovamma bagged a silver each, clocking 46.07 seconds and 52.60 seconds respectively, in the women's 400m race.

Compatriot Sajin V. finished ninth in the men's 400m race with a timing of 47.86 seconds.

Gayathri Govindaraj won silver in the women's 100m hurdles, clocking 13.76 seconds, while teammate Meghana finished fifth with 14.22 seconds.

The women's 4x100m relay team bagged bronze, with a timing of 45.42 seconds while their male counterpart finished fourth, clocking 39.83 seconds.

Long jumper Ankit Sharma completed a hat-trick of silver medals in the GP Series with an effort of 7.87m in the third leg on Monday.

In other events, India's triple jumper Sheena N.V. finished fifth with a leap of 12.96 metres while discus thrower Navjeet Kaur Dhillon produced her season's best throw of 53.53m to finish fourth.

Women sprinter Srabani Nanda finished fourth after clocking 11.73 seconds in the 100m race. M Gomathi also finished fourth in the women's 800 metres with a timing of 2:07.88.
