After a week long schedule in Sydney, the action now shifts to Jakarta, with all the top players in the world assembling in the In Indonesian capital for the 2015 Indonesia Open. Like the Sydney last week, the opening day saw a whole host of qualification matches along with first round mixed doubles action.
The second day will see the likes of the World No.1 a recently crowned Australian Open Men’s champion Chen Long take to the courts for the opening round matches and also the impressive Viktor Axelson from Denmark will also be seen in action.
Among the Indians, three shuttlers will be in the fray. World No.1 Saina Nehwal, who lost out in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open last week will take on Nicoan Jindapon of Thailand while P V Sindhu will face Hsu Ya Ching of Chinese Taipei.
In the Men’s Singles, Parupalli Kashyap will square off against Tanonogsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand while World No.4 Kidambi Srikanth will face Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark.
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will also be in action and they will face the Chinese Taipei pair of Hsu Ya Ching and Pai Yu Po while in the men’s doubles, India will have not one, but two pairs taking part as the duo of Pranaav Jerry Chapra and Akshay Dewalkar will face the Canadian pairing of Adrian Liu and Derrick NG. Also, Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy will also be seen in action, taking on Lee Sheng Mu and Tsai Chia Hsin of Chinese Taipei
