Aditya Joshi from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, became the first male junior badminton player from India to be ranked top in the world.

According to reports, Aditya jumped ten places in the latest rankings issued by the Badminton World Federation to be ranked number one with 18776 points.

Aditya’s father, Atul Joshi, who is a badminton coach with SAI’s Special Area Games, described it as a New Year gift.

“It came a day late, but yes, it’s a New Year present for me,” he said.
