Star Sports Premier Badminton League Brand Ambassador Akshay Kumar will visit ‘The City of Nawabs’ – Lucknow on 4th January 2016 to showcase his support for the ongoing Star Sports PBL 2016. The fans in the city will have a chance to see their superstar right in front of them at the stadium as he will be seen speaking to players and boosting them for the actions ahead.
Akshay Kumar, who himself is a sports enthusiast, will meet the players of home team Awadhe Warriors and the visiting team Delhi Acers tomorrow and watch the Tie at Babu Banarsi Das UP Badminton Academy.
With him coming on board, this has added further to the excitement and glamour towards the League. Badminton lovers already perceive the superstar as a sport and fitness freak and his association is being seen as a perfect fit to all sports lovers.
Speaking on this presence at the stadium, Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta, President BAI & Chairman PBL said, “I welcome Akshay Kumar to the ‘City of Nawabs’ and I am sure he wil have a great time watching the teams in action. I am sure his presence will motivate the players and even his fans in the city to come and watch the matches as well as him in the stadium.”
The Star Sports Premier Badminton League commenced from 2nd January 2016, where six franchisees - Delhi Acers, Hyderabad Hunters, Bengaluru Top Guns, Chennai Smashers, Mumbai Rockets and Awadhe Warriors - are competing for the top honour.
