New Delhi, April 5 (IANS): Malaysian badminton legend Rashid Sidek was so mesmerised with the local food he tried during last year’s Indian Badminton League (IBL) that his taste buds left him wanting more.
Here as the singles head coach of his country’s contingent participating in the India Open, the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bronze medallist made sure he tried the delicacies once more when he visited Karim’s restaurant in Nizamuddin Thursday and Friday.
“I had mutton barra, butter chicken and badam pasanda. It was very good and tasty. I liked it very much,” the two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist told IANS Saturday.
Sidek was accompanied by Malaysia’s national doubles coach Rosman Razak and Delhi shuttlers Tanveer Gill and Mohita Sahdev on his trip to Nizamuddin.
Sidek and Gill were both part of the Delhi Smashers coaching staff during the IBL.
“Last year during the IBL, Sidek went to Karim’s in Old Delhi and enjoyed the food. So this time too he wanted to try the dishes,” Tanveer told IANS.
