Lee Chong Wei will have to wait longer for good news

Lee Chong Wei vows to clear his name from doping allegations

World No. 1 badminton player Lee Chong Wei will not get to wait to know his fate soon as the hearing of his failed dope test will only be taken place after December 8.

Deputy President Datuk Norza Zakaria of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) mentioned that the World Badminton Federation (BWF) had set the hearing for December 8, but the national body requested for another date.

“BWF are ready to conduct the hearing on December 8 but we are not ready. We need more time to gather a few more facts. We are now waiting for them to set a new date,” said Norza.

Norza further stated “It is best that we have every area of the investigation covered before going to the hearing.”

Lee will be represented by UK-based lawyer Mike Morgan at the hearing. He could plead for a reduced sentence if Lee is able to show to BWF that the banned substance was taken during medical treatment for his inner thigh injury.
