Third seed, Ajay Jayaram was victorious against fifth seeded Malaysian Wei Feng Chong in what was an easy match. Jayaram now progresses to the semi-final where he faces off against top seed Tommy Sugiarto. Tanvi Lad fought valiantly against Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia but lost in three games.
Mixed doubles pair Akshay Dewalkar and Prajakta Sawant beat French pair Ronan Labar and Emilie Lefel to progress to the quarterfinal stage of the tournament, while men’s doubles pair Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri did not play, courtesy of a walkover.
