Men’s Singles Category:

The first semi-final of the Men’s Singles category proved to be a one sided clash between Long Chen and Wei Feng Chong.

The Malaysian player Chong resisted the agile Long Chen in the first game to some extent and kept the score 11-11. But after this score, Chen took no time to complete his 21 points and bagged the first game by 21-18.

Spirited Chen continued his winning momentum in the second game also and crushed the Malaysian smasher Chong with a healthy difference by 21-7 to book his berth in the Finals.

The second semi-final of the category was played between Kento Momota from Japan and Zhengming Wang from China. After a close fight in the first game, Wang snatched the game by 22-20. Momota reverted back strongly by winning the second game 21-9. Wang showed extraordinary skills in the final game and clinched the game by 21-6 to advance to the Finals.

Women’s Singles Category:

In the first semi-final of the category, Chinese star Shixian Wang pummeled her Thai opponent Porntip Buranaprasertsuk. Wang looked in a fabulous touch in the complete match and comfortably bagged the match by 21-13 and 21-5 to eliminate Porntip.

Chinese sensations Xuerui Li and Li Han were on the court against each other for the second semi-final encounter of the category. Xuerui Li tackled her countrymate reasonably well and won the first game 21-12. Even the second game of the match went in favour of Xuerui by 21-19 which opened the doors of Finals for her.

Men’s Doubles Category:

The Korean duo of Yong Dae Lee and Yeon Seong Yoo ended the Japanese opportunity in the Men’s Doubles category. Yong and Yeon emerged as winners in a competitive battle against the Japanese pair of Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa.

Despite losing the first game by 19-21, the Koreans fought brilliantly well to snatch the last two games by 21-19 and 21-11 and registered a spot in the Final.

The second semi-final of the category was played between Yun Cai-Biao Chai from China and Thein How Hoon-Wee Kiong Tan from Malaysia. The Malaysians emerged as the winners with the scores 23-21 and 21-17 in their favour.

Women’s Doubles Category:

In the first semi-final clash of the category, the Thai pair of Duanganong Aroonkesorn and Kunchala Voravichitchaikul was defeated by the Chinese pair of Yixin Bao and Qianxin Zhong. The Chinese duo clinched the victory by scores 21-15 and 21-7 in a 33-minute battle.

The second semi-final was to be played between two Chinese pairs. The pair of Xiaoli Wang and Yang Yu advanced to the Final by walkover from the duo of Qing Tian and Yunlei Zhao.

Mixed Doubles Category:

The first semi-final clash went in favour of Indonesia. The Indonesain pair of Tontowi Ahmed and Liliyana Natsir defeated the Korean pair of Ki Jung Kim and So Young Kim by 21-9 and 21-11. The match was played for 26 minutes.

In the second semi-final match, the Danish pair of Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen progressed to the Final by walkover from the Chinese pair of Nan Zhang and Yunlei Zhao.
