World No. 2 and perhaps India’s biggest hope at the upcoming World Championships, Saina Nehwal has said that her performance at the upcoming Badminton World Championships in Jakarta depends upon her her overall body health.

“My performance must be the best as per my analysis. Further it depends upon the overall body health of mine,” the ace shuttler told PTI.

The 25-year-old’s last competitive tournament was the Indonesian Super Series in June, where in the quarterfinal stage she lost to Wang Shixian of China. She further added that she competes in alsmost all tournaments that are held in the year.

"As a badminton player of India, I play almost all the tournaments slated for the year 2015-16. For example, World Cup, Japan Open, China Open, Denmark Open, France and Hong Kong open by the end of 2015," the 2012-Olympic bronze medalist said.

The number one position isnt static: Saina

Talking about the preparations for the forthcoming competitions, the shuttler, who is currently residing in Bengaluru, said that she was getting the best facilities and her training was progressing well.

"I am at Bangalore, in the academy so my full concentration is on my performance. My coach is giving me all the encouragement to show by best performance.

“My training part is very good, I am getting all possible help and facilities required for the improvement of badminton player game and skill," Saina said.

Earlier in the year, Saina created history by becoming the first India women shuttler to become World No.1, but soon fell from that position and speaking about that, she said that the numero uno position doesnt belong to a particular person and felt that the reason why she reached that position was because she gave 100% in all the tournaments she competed in.

“My performance is showing some progress, that is, I am getting good training. I am trying to maintain my performance by giving 100 per cent from my side as a player. May be because of that I got that position.

"The number one is not static, it changes with the time and performance. Chinese girl Li Xuerui who was number one for almost entire year has slumped to third position," she said.
