Yonex French Open 2013 preview of Indian participation on day two

On the second day of the Yonex French Open 2013, there is a long queue of Indian contestants charged to take over their opponents in the first round of the tournament.

In the Men’s Singles category Sai Praneeth B., Anand Pawar and Srikanth K. will play against Kristian Vittinghus, Thomas Rouxel and Wing Ki Wong respectively. The matches are scheduled in the afternoon session of the day. All the three players competed well in the qualifiers which took place yesterday. Anand Pawar defeated Brice Leverdez and Joachim Persson to clear his way to the main round. Srikanth K. crushed Scott Evans and Sourabh Varma while Sai Praneeth B. defeated Ville Lang and Lucas Corvee to progress to the main round.

In the Women’s Singles Category, Saina Nehwal, Arundhati Pantawane and P V Sindhu will take charge and try to move ahead to the next rounds. The World No.4 Saina Nehwal, after her failure in the Yonex Denmark Open, is ready to showcase her skills in the hunt for the title. The other two players will be spirited high to yield some credentials in their name. PV Sindhu will be up against the Korean smasher Ji Hyun Sung. Ji Hyun Sung crashed out Saina Nehwal from Yonex Denmark Open 2013 last week. Saina will face the Thai challenge against Nichaon Jindapon while Arundhati Pantawane will battle against Porntip Buranaprasertsuk from Thailand.

Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will represent in Women’s Doubles. They will lock horns with Indonesian pair Gebby Ristiyani Imawan and Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah.

In the Mixed Double’s category two pairs will represent India in the post evening session of the day. Tarun Kona and Ashwini Ponnappa will fight against Robert Blair and Imogen Bankier of Scotland. The other hope in this category is from Manu Attri and Jwala Gutta. They will battle against Jacco Arends and Selena Piek of Netherlands.

On all this day is full of hopes for Indian participants to progress to the next round of the respective categories.
