Defending champions Brazil continued their winning streak by crushing Dominican Republic 107-43 on the second day of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship for Women at Xalapa, Mexico.

Brazil dominated the entire match by taking all four quarters 27-11, 25-6, 25-12 and 30-14 respectively to win their second match in a row. Brazil had defeated Puerto Rico on day one of the championship.

In other matches, Canada beat Jamaica 75-37, Cuba defeated Chile 85-59 and Puerto Rico emerged victorious in a close fought contest against Argentina, winning 85-79.

Venezuela will play Cuba, while Chile will face Canada next. Argentina will take on Dominican Republic and hosts Mexico will meet Puerto Rico on day three.

This is the 12th edition of the competition and ten countries are fighting for continental honours. The top three teams from the tournament will qualify for the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women in Turkey.
