The KCM Basketball Bash 2014 (KCM BB BASH) has tipped off in Kathmandu, Nepal, with Nepal Engineering College (NEC) and Gurukul College getting off to flying starts.

In the opening match of the championship, NEC thumped hosts Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) 38 – 9 with Sailendra scoring a game high 16 points for the winners.

In the second match of the championship, Gurukul College thrashed Asian College 62 – 17, riding high on Sagar Thapa’s 16 points.

Earlier the KCM Basketball Bash 2014 was inaugurated today by Honorable Chief Guest, Mr. Purushottam Paudel, Minster of Youth and Sports in the Nepal government. Students of KCM performed cultural programmes during the opening ceremony of the championship.

The 2014 edition of the KCM Basketball Bash, one of the biggest college-level basketball tournaments in the country, is being staged at the Kathmandu College of Management at Gwarko, Lalitpur, Nepal.

The tournament has three categories: boys, girls and corporate. There are 24 teams in the boys category, seven teams in the girls category and 16 teams in the corporate category, competing for the prestigious title of the KCM BB Bash championship.
