Actor Ranvijay Singh feels India is taking its sports seriously

The poster boy of many Indian houses and the heartthrob of several, Rannvijay Singh is an ardent basketball addict. His athletic built, sportsmanship spirit and his on-court basketball skills show that there’s much more the reality TV show star.

Present at the UBA Pro Basketball which is been played at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Rannvijay was glued to his seat while he was enthralled by the teams on Friday.

While talking to Sportskeeda at the sidelines, the TV star was happy to inform, “I love this game and I am happy to see that times are changing in the country. India is taking all its sports seriously. The standard of all the games like badminton, tennis, basketball, kabaddi.

“We also have a lot of world-class players, which is directly motivating the youth.” He further adds, “Just yesterday I was out promoting the game of Table Tennis. I was surprised by the kind of talent Indian has.”

As per Rannvijay, the basketball scene in the country had changed courtesy UBA. “The players have become fitter, game is faster, and standard of the game has changed. Lot of young basketball players had getting the right exposure due to this game. Look at the court.. It’s superb. The event is providing everything to the players,” he says.

He also feels that the League system in the country is responsible for upliftment all the games. “We have new Leagues coming up every now and this. The exposure is brilliant,” says Rannvijay.

As a toddler, he was always inclined towards all the sports. Be it basketball or athletics, he would enjoy playing all. Growing up, the Jalandhar-born star played for nine Nationals for his state. The athlete was specially amazed by the infrastructure the stadium is provided the players with.

“The court is amazing. It is definitely the international standard. This is how the country will change and the people will start taking the game personally. ”

Channelizing the youth’s energy is the biggest concern, according to Rannvijay. Which is why he is taking steps to promote sports all by himself. “India’s youth is gifted, they just need to channel their energy in the right direction. My team and I are trying to promote all the sports in the country,” he signs off.
