Aussies Celebrate thier bronze medal win over hosts Turkey

Australia outclassed the hosts Turkey 74-44 claim the third position of the 2014 FIBA World basketball championship for women.

In the bronze medal match played in Istanbul, Australia took the early lead by winning the first quarter 17-4. Turkey tried to come back in the match in the second quarter but Australia also took the second quarter 21-15. In the half time break, Australia were leading 38 – 19. After the break, Australia came out even stronger to take the third quarter 16-7 and to go to the last quarter with comfortable 28 points lead. As the previous quarters, Australia took the last quarter 20-18 to win the match with 30 points and to claim the bronze medal of the 2014 FIBA World basketball championship for women.

Mariana Tolo scored the game-high 21 points for the Aussies while Nevriye Yilmaz scored with 13 points for the hosts.
