FIBA Asia U16 Championship: Iran lose to Korea

Championship favorites Iran lost to Korea 78-92 on day two of the ongoing third FIBA Asia U16 Championship (for boys) at Tehran, Iran.

The Koreans took the first quarter 20-19 while Iran took the second quarter 23-22 to level the score at halftime. After the break, Korea took the remaining two quarters 27-16 and 23-20 respectively to beat the championship favorites.

In another match, Hong Kong lost to China 48-100. China were too strong for Hong Kong as the Chinese took all the quarters 22-17, 21-12, 35-8 and 22-11 respectively to thrash Hong Kong.

In other matches of day 2, Syria beat Bahrain 74-63, Thailand went down to Malaysia 56-65, Jordan lost to Japan 57-87 and Kazakhstan also lost to Philippines 88-90.

India will play Japan on day 3 of the championship. 14 countries that qualified from different sub-zones of FIBA Asia are fighting for continental honours.
