Korean National U16 Basketball team defeated Chinese Taipei 86 – 64 to win bronze medal in the ongoing 3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women and most importantly to confirm their ticket for the 2014 FIBA World U17 Championship for Women which will be played at Bratislava (Slovak Republic) from July 10-July 20, 2014.

Korea took the first quarter 24 – 15 but the Chinese Taipei took the second quarter 22 – 18. After the break Korea took the third quarter 25 – 8 to go to the fourth quarter with huge lead. Despite Chinese Taipei managing to draw last quarter by 19 – 19, it cannot stop Korea to win the match by 86 – 64 and confirm their ticket to the FIBA U17 World Cup. H An netted game high 22 points for Korea while Y Shu top scored with 19 points for Chinese Taipei.

Korea will join China and Japan will represent FIBA ASIA in the 2014 FIBA World U17 Championship for Women which will be played at Bratislava (Slovak Republic) from July 10-July 20, 2014.

The final of the championship will be between China and Japan.
