Indian U16 girls basketball team to train in China

New Delhi - The Under-16 Indian girls basketball team will undergo a training-cum-preparation camp Nov 13-21 in Dongguan, China, where they will compete against Chinese clubs.

The team is scheduled to participate in the upcoming third FIBA Asia Championship for Women in Colombo Nov 23-30 and is currently undergoing a training camp at Gandhinagar.

Head coach T.D. Biju along with coach Abhay Chavan will be leading the contingent under the guidance of senior national women’s team head coach Francisco Garcia.

“I think the team has some talented players. We need to focus on overall development of these players. The goal is to train them harder to join the senior national team in future. This exposure trip will help them to play matches under pressure which will be key to their development. We expect them to give 100 percent and try to get the best results,” said Garcia.

Aneeta (Kerala), Gagandeep Kaur (Punjab), Sakshi Pandey (Madhya Pradesh), K.T. Mayukha (Kerala), Mugdha Amraotkar (Maharashtra), V. Srividhya (Tamil Nadu), M.G. Shinu (Tamil Nadu).
