NBA Video: Jae Crowder accidentally sinks a full-court pass, LeBron tears sleeves of jersey mid-game

That might be a grunge trend, but not on the court, LJ

Fans of the NBA don’t need to be told about the excitement of the games that they ritually and faithfully watch every day. But while these fast-paced games featuring astonishingly athletic stars making the crowd roar, they also produce some out-of-the-blue plays that give fans more bang for their buck.

Buzzer-beaters, ankle-breakers and rim-shakers are some of the plays that leave the crowd craving more, but one sure-fire favourite to blow the roof off the arena are long-range shots. We doubt that there’s even a footnote in any basketball handbook that teaches that shot, but Caron Butler and Corey Maggette have proved that street smarts prevail over academic intelligence on occasion.

Most recently, Russell Westbrook sank a half-court three against the Orlando Magic with two seconds left on the clock to force a game-saving overtime, but Boston Celtics’ Jae Crowder one-upped him against the Indiana Pacers a couple of days ago. The fact that the shot didn’t count didn’t keep the fans from erupting in appreciation. Have a look:

The face of the NBA, LeBron James, has once again taken exception to sleeved jerseys. Except this time, the two-time champion did it on-court. “King” James has criticized the sleeved version of the jerseys when he was a member of the Miami Heat, stating that the sleeves were the culprit in the case of his dismal three-point shooting.

The jerseys that were re-introduced a couple of years ago, have drawn flak from other players like defending champion Steph Curry and Robin Lopez as well. In this video, LeBron tears the sleeves of his jersey in frustration after missing a three-pointer. After the game however, he cleared the air and said that the jerseys weren’t to blame for his of-the-mark shots and that he had removed his arm sleeves too, and that it was just a mental block.
