The Portland Trailblazers defeated the Dallas Mavericks last night 94-75 making it five wins in a row, however this win came at a cost. Two minutes into the third quarter Wesley Matthews went down without any contact and began holding on to his left Achilles.

MRI confirms the shooting guard of the Trailblazers ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left foot and will miss the rest of the season, the team announced. Matthews averaged 16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assist per game in 59 starts for Portland. He is in final year of a 5 year 34 million dollar contract that he signed in July 2010.
