Hosts South Korea won the gold in both men’s and women’s basketball of the 2014 Asian Games held at Incheon, South Korea.
South Korea defeated Asian Champions Iran 79 – 77 to win the men’s basketball gold. Korea took the first quarter 25 – 16 and lead by 42 – 36 during the half time break. After the break, Iran came out strong and win the third quarter and were leading by 61 – 58 going to the last quarter. But Koreans made a comeback in the last quarter to win the gold medal at home by 79 – 77. Meanwhile Japan beat Kazakhstan 76 – 72 to win bronze medal.
In women’s category, Korea beat China 76 – 64 to win gold while Japan beat Chinese Taipei 61 – 59 to win bronze medal.
